- When I first started on Blogger, my handle was "Ratty", maintaining anonymity so that in my "Rat in the Walls" blog I could write about my brother's fatal illness without giving away his identity. Under that pseudonym, I could voice things I couldn't elsewhere. Rats thrive in the dark. ::: Now, five years after his death in 2008, I'm coming out of the walls and reclaiming my humanity.

I have been following for a small while with a heavy heart. My great grandfather died of ALS. My thoughts drift to BH often...and to his family and friends. I have 3 kids close in age to his. I read his last post tonight and cried as if I know them. He has touched many. I pray for peace for each of you. Sadly, Karrie in NC

I just wanted to say how sorry I was. I can only imagine the toll this has taken on the family. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.
ratty, i wanted to let you know that i'm thinking of you.
i also wanted to call your attention to a comment at brainhell's in which a guy named will posted bh's real name. i know you may not have the heart to read all of them now, but thought you might be interested in deleting that comment. i know that this is a very difficult time and i'm sorry to bother you if this is insignificant at this point.

Sis B, I saw Will's comment on BH's final post. In order to delete that comment, I had to delete the other forty-seven comments as well. Deleting all those loving words hurt.
